Excursion to the Alamo, River Walk Cruise and Lunch – Thursday, March 21st
Our group will depart the resort about 9:00 a.m. for the short trip to The Alamo, where an Alamo History Interpreter will take you on a fascinating one-tour of the 300-year-old Spanish mission complex that has shaped the city of San Antonio, ignited the battle for Texas independence, and influenced American history. Then on to San Antonio River Walk, where you’ll board a boat for a leisurely cruise down the San Antonio River, which winds and loops under bridges through two parallel sidewalks lined with restaurants and shops, connecting the major tourist draws along with the San Antonio Museum of Art, the trendy Pearl district and the city’s five Spanish colonial missions, which have been named a World Heritage Site. Lined by bars, shops, restaurants, nature, public artwork, and the five historic missions, the River Walk is an important part of the city’s urban fabric and a tourist attraction in its own right. After the cruise ASC will host the group for lunch at a local restaurant along the River Walk. The group will return to the hotel around 1:30 p.m.
Annual ASC Golf Tournament – Friday, March 22nd – 1:15 – 6:00 p.m.
The Palmer Course is located on site a short shuttle ride away from the resort. Nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country just north of San Antonio, Texas, the course provides breathtaking views of the Hill Country and downtown San Antonio from one of the highest points in the area. Ranked among the “Top 50 Golf Resorts in the U.S.” by Conde Nast Traveler, the Palmer Course will challenge golfers of all skill levels. Golfers can drive themselves to the course or use the free shuttle transportation from the hotel. Just arrive in time for a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start. Box lunches will be provided by event sponsor INVISTA.
The best-ball format will provide opportunities to capitalize on the best part of your game as cash prizes will be awarded for ‘longest drive’, ‘closest to the pin’, ‘closest to the pin – 2nd shot’ and ‘longest putt’ in addition to the team prizes.
Please sign up at the time you complete your registration and provide your handicap number to facilitate team pairings. Greens fees for the tournament are $140.00. Club rental is available at $65.00 per set for left- or right-hand clubs.
