2021  Annual General Meeting

Dear Members and Guests,

After having to cancel the previously scheduled March 2020 and 2021 Automotive Safety Council Annual Meetings due to Covid 19, the Board of Directors felt an Interim Annual Meeting this September would be a good bridge until our next regularly scheduled March 2022 meeting. The coming September 15-17, 2021, meeting at the Inn at St John’s in Plymouth, MI will have a slightly different format and timing and is being held in Michigan to accommodate the most members geographically with travel restrictions. We are excited to have this meeting in person and hope all of you are vaccinated and comfortable with meeting in person. We will have extra spacing in the presentation room and for the dinner. Having the meeting in Michigan allows us to have speakers we normally could not get which is another benefit for this mid-year meeting.

The 2021 Automotive Safety Council Interim Annual General Meeting will have a great speaker line up that our attendees have come to expect. This year’s speakers will include Dr. David Harkey, President IIHS; Dr. John Bolte, The Ohio State University; Dr. Stephen Ridella, Director, Office of Defects Investigation NHTSA; Dr. Valentina Graci, CHoP; Dr. Jason Hallman, Toyota CSRC; Colm Boran, Sr. AV Manager Ford Motor; Robert Strassburger, ACTS President; Dr. Jingwen Hu, UMTRI; Louis Gerhardy, VP Ambarella; Allison Kender, Director TRC; and many others from around the world discussing new technology and research results. We are indeed fortunate to be able to offer the highest caliber of speakers from throughout our industry. I hope you will take full advantage of this opportunity to hear the latest in automotive safety and to support your organization.

This year’s meeting at the Inn at St. John’s is where we had the 2010 ASC Annual meeting, located about 20 minutes from the Detroit International airport. The resort features a lovely hotel and golf course on site and is near many great restaurants. Ann Arbor is only a few minutes away and the entire Detroit area has many venues to enjoy. While I know many of you will be commuting to the conference, I hope your spouses can join us for our dinner and reception and renew your friendships. The golf on site also has Carl’s golf land for club fitting. We look forward to seeing you while hearing the latest in auto safety technology from the best speakers.

Warmest Regards,

Doug Campbell,
