Drivers are treating driver assistance systems such as the Tesla Autopilot feature as if they were fully autonomous, a survey of 600 users of the technology by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found. “The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technology’s limits,” says IIHS President David Harkey.
