ASC Presents Prestigious Pathfinder Award to Euro NCAP’s Michiel van Ratigen

The Automotive Safety Council (ASC) at their 2018 annual meeting was pleased to present the ASC Pathfinder Award to Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).

The ASC Pathfinder Award is the highest award given by the Automotive Safety Council, which is the automotive safety supplier trade association.  The award is given annually to a recipient that has shown a long track record of making significant and continuous improvements to the protection of automotive occupants, pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.

This year’s recipient has been a leader in implementing new and improved safety requirements and test protocols that encourage the inclusion of cutting edge safety equipment and capabilities into vehicles of all sizes and types in Europe which is a catalyst for other regions of the world to follow suit.  This activity has brought the latest life saving capabilities to even the smallest and least expensive vehicle types making automobile safety available for all.
