An Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study has found that drivers were at least 72% less likely to use either adaptive cruise control or other partial automation systems on roads with curves. “This study suggests that these technologies will only be able to reach their full potential if drivers can trust them to handle curves,” said IIHS’ Wen Hu, the study’s lead author.
