The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is requiring automakers to disclose when vehicles with full or partial automation are involved in crashes on public roads. The order, which extends to vehicles with driver-assist features in use during or just before a crash, is intended to help identify possible safety defects, NHTSA says.
