Collision Mitigation, Crash Avoidance and Automatic Emergency Scanning Radar for Frontal braking

The radar unit operates using a specific frequency for either long range or short range scanning the area in front of the vehicle which is analyzed by an ECU to determine the closing distance and time to objects in front of the vehicle. Based upon the information, the vehicle takes the preprogrammed corrective actions ranging from alerting the driver, prefilling the brake reservoir or applying the brakes.

Video Camera

This sensor is used to detect the position of the vehicle relative to its intended lane of travel, presence of pedestrians and other uses. The data is fed to an ECU that allows it to actions ranging from alerting the driver, nudging the vehicle back into its lane if drifting to steering the car if necessary.
